Michael Carey - Executive Chairman

Michael is the Executive Chairman and majority shareholder. Prior to acquiring these businesses, Michael worked in a number of multinational food companies in Ireland and the UK. He has held the Managing Directors’ roles at Kellogg’s (UK/Ireland), Fox’s Biscuits and Evian/Volvic (UK/Ireland) and Marketing Director at Cantrell and Cochrane and Jacob’s in Ireland. He graduated with a B.Comm. and MBS from UCD and is a fellow of the Marketing Institute of Ireland.

 

He is also a Non-Exec Director of the Consumer Foods Board of Bord Bia, a Non-Exec Director of Traidlinks (an NGO working in Sub Saharan Africa) and President of the Marketing Institute. He won the Ernst & Young Industry Entrepreneur of the Year 2005.

 

Seamus Kearney - Managing Director

Seamus joined the Group in March 2006 as Chief Operating Officer and became Managing Director in January 2007. He has extensive experience in senior management primarily in Aer Lingus where he worked for 17 years and latterly held the position of Chief Operating Officer. He is also a non-executive director of Keelings Group.

 

Seamus is an engineering graduate from University College Dublin (UCD) and holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business.

 

Daragh Monahan - Group Sales and Exports Director

Daragh is a Graduate of the Smurfit Business School and joined Rowntree Macintosh (later to become Nestle Rowntree through acquisition) in 1989. He held various positions in sales with the company before leading the change management project within Nestle Ireland.

 

Daragh worked with Stonehouse Marketing as Sales Manager before joining Fruitfield Foods as National Accounts Manager. He currently holds the position of Group Sales and Exports Director at Jacob Fruitfield Food Group.

 

James Yarr - Group Operations Director

As Group Operations Director James has overall responsibility for all three Jacob Fruitfield factories. His focus is on improving standards whilst reducing our manufacturing cost base. He has worked in Food Manufacture since 1990, and has held senior positions in the UK and Ireland with United Biscuits, Northern Foods and Heinz.

 

James is a Graduate of Business Schools from both the University of Southampton and University of Teesside.

 

John Gleeson - Head of Finance

John has been with the business since it was founded in 2002 and as Financial Controller has been part of the senior management team for the past year. He was appointed Head of Finance in March of this year.

 

He has extensive experience in senior management having worked with Nestle Ireland for almost 15 years occupying senior positions in both Finance and Supply Chain as well as leading major projects.

 

John is a fellow member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants.
